This position works with disadvantaged persons to assist them to secure a living wage job, establish a stable household and learn essential life skills.
Coaches people to stay in the program and provide wrap around services when barriers are encountered
- Industry specific certification preferred; preference will be given to certified candidates
- Valid Driver’s license and ability to maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required
- Graduation from an accredited four year college with a degree in counseling, criminal justice, social work, psychology or other related field is preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience working with disadvantaged individuals required
- at least 3 or more years knowledge and experience with employment services, including CCMEP and WEP preferred
- prior experience using office equipment including phones, scanners, printers, fax machines and web cameras is required
- excellent communication skills are required
- good judgement and discretion required
- ability to work well in a team required
- adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct is required especially to standards governing confidentiality
- professional appearance and demeanor required\must be culturally and linguistically sensitive to the population served
- intake and assessment experience highly preferred
Work is primarily performed in an indoor office setting
Some outdoor activities and travel between locations may be required (up to 25%)
Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment
