The St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen Porter will be responsible for cleaning St. Vincent kitchen areas and supporting our cooking staff. This position will include washing dishes, keeping floors clean, sanitizing food preparation surfaces and occasionally helping with food prep work.
Responsibilities:
Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitized.
Sweep and mop floors.
Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations.
Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries.
Keep the food and supply storage areas organized.
Take out the trash.
Help with food prep when needed.
Serve guest at shelters when needed.
Qualifications:
Previous food service experience preferred, will train.
Hospitality and service to St. Vincent guests, while we are serving meals.
Serve Safe certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Demonstrated successful experience working with diverse populations.
Must be able to work nights/evenings/weekends/holidays.
Must be able to work at multiple locations.
Must have a reliable source of transportation.
Must be able to carry 50 lbs. for short distances.
Must be able to pass a mandatory drug screen and background check.
