Psychotherapist (OMJ/MC)

Job skills and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with each client, providing individual, group, family psychotherapy services, as medically necessary.
  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning;
  • Ensure availability for clinical consultation;
  • Complete Diagnostic Evaluations and Treatment Plans
  • Maintain ongoing frequent contact with other assigned professionals, parents, and or outside agency professionals assigned to the case
  • Provide CPST and minor case management functions, if and as needed
  • Assume strong advocacy role for clients and offer recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge of such client
  • Actively participate in all treatment conferences and meeting for clients
  • Complete all paperwork and documentation required by the Agency within 24-48 hours of services rendered
  • Provide education and resources for clients and family members and/ or other collaterals, as appropriate
  • Supervise, as and when appropriate or requested by the Agency, an intern or clinically supervise Qualified Mental Health Specialist(s)
  • Attend and participate in continuing professional education, departmental meetings, Agency meetings, community meetings, training and teachings
  • Render one or two hours of unpaid supervision and or clinical team meeting per week
  • Maintain supervision log for supervisee(s) as required by the Agency, state licensure requirements, and or accreditation requirements;
  • Maintain licensure requirements, including but not limited to continue education requirements;
  • maintain regular and reliable schedule and be available for crisis management remotely or otherwise, as appropriate;
  • Fulfill other duties, as assigned by Agency and or required by law.

Education/Licensure/ Recertification

  • Minimum educational level bachelor’s degree in Social work; Psychology, or related fields
  • Preferable educational level of Master’s degree with clinical experience as LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT
  • Maintain current CEU’s Certification and current Ohio licensure in their respective fields
  • Maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License; and
  • CPR/ First Aid Certified

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and ability to work independently
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques

Work Experience:

  • The ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment and the ability to communicate across different electronic platform and across a broad geographic provide base is essential
  • Knowledge and experience with Evidence Based Practice methods of treatment.
