Tasks to review
- Active presence on the shop floor throughout the day.
- Communication to machinist, inspection and office is critical.
- Learn machining operations and whom is trained in them. Keep up the cross-training chart.
- Learn how to ready blueprints and the G, D & T.
- Prioritize work on the floor with everyone.
- Update and maintain WIP schedule.
- Understand tooling needs. Interface to ordering tooling, be proactive.
- Learn approved outside suppliers and vendors.
- Help to develop and improve on the process flow of jobs on the floor.
- ISO; Learn manual. Make sure floor is audit ready. Training of floor personnel.
- Cyber SECURITY; Learn requirements. Do internal audits. Improve and implement.
