Position Title: After-School Program Coordinator (QMHS)

Hourly Pay Range: $14.00 – $26.40
Job Summary
The After-School Program Coordinator oversees daily program operations, supervises students and staff, plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities, and ensures a safe, supportive environment. This role manages communication with parents/guardians, supports facility upkeep, and may coordinate off-site programming. The position promotes social-emotional development and provides mental health–informed services for youth
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the after-school program, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Design, plan, and implement engaging, age-appropriate programs and activities.
- Facilitate social-emotional learning and skill-building activities.
- Supervise, support, and monitor staff performance.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff.
- Enforce program rules and behavioral expectations.
- Implement and follow emergency response and safety procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation and program records.
- Assist with coordination of community-based or off-site programming as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience per state guidelines.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses.
- Training in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or behavioral management preferred.
- Experience in community mental health, youth services, or case management.
- Ability to work under licensed supervision.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if community-based).
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state compliance requirements.
Working Conditions
- Approximately 50–70% direct client contact; remaining time dedicated to documentation and coordination.
- Regular travel and possible client home visits.
- Work in varied and unpredictable environments.
- Ongoing oversight by licensed professionals.
- Active collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptation to different spaces while maintaining safety and ADA compliance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move between schools, homes, and community settings.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to multitask, manage stress, and respond quickly in crisis situations.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, and documentation.
- Adequate vision and hearing to monitor safety and interact effectively.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
