Starting Hourly Rate: $19.80
Essential Functions
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Hostler is responsible for the general cleaning and upkeep on the interior and exterior of the buses, the staging and assigning of buses for daily service, including the computerized assignment function, switching out farebox cash boxes, filling fare media and the fueling of all RTA vehicles, including the checking of all lubricants and fluids.
Days and Hours of Work
• Full-time position, 40-hour work week. Hours may be 1st shift (7am-3:30pm), 4th shift (6:15pm-3:00am) or 6th shift (9:45am – 6:15pm)

Required Qualifications
• Minimum age requirement 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• Have basic mechanical aptitude in order to understand the checking of fluids on all RTA vehicles and noting defects to ensure the safe operation of all RTA vehicles.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL Class B License with a Passenger Endorsement
CDL Bus Operator
Starting Hourly Rate: $19.80 – Top Hourly Pay: $33.00 – 7th year of service
Essential Functions No CDL? No problem! Paid training is provided for both CDL permit and license. The CDL Bus Driver functions as a professional bus driver for RTA by providing safe, efficient, and quality transportation service to customers. Transports customers by operating any type of approved bus assigned to regularly scheduled routes and special service routes while observing route time schedules, safety rules and regulations, and State and Municipal traffic laws. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service by responding to customer inquiries and assisting customers with various transportation needs, including assisting persons with disabilities onto and off the bus to secure wheelchair with safety restraints as required.
Days and Hours of Work
• 40-hour work week guaranteed, however most work schedules are more than 40 hours a week.
• Days off are fixed but on workdays, the times can fluctuate.
• Work shifts vary by 1st, 2nd, 3rd, splits, weekend, or holidays.

Required Qualifications
• Must have valid Ohio driver’s license. Must have OR be able to obtain a CDL Class B License with a Passenger Endorsement.
o No OMVI or DUI in last five (5) years.
o No more than one (1) driving related suspension in a rolling 24-month period.
o No more than 4 points on your driving record and/or 2 moving violations in a rolling 36-month period.
• Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Must be able to pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Test, DOT Physical Assessment and Background checks.
• Must have steady work history, have reliable transportation, and must verify the past three (3) years driving record and meet the driving criteria.

SERVICE AND REPAIR MECHANIC POSITION
Starting Hourly Rate: $31.35 – Top Hourly Pay: $34.25 – 5th year of service
Essential Functions
Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs to all systems of every model revenue vehicle. Perform all types of preventive maintenance inspections in accordance with procedures established by RTA and the vehicle manufacturer.
Days and Hours of Work
• Full-time position, 40-hour work week. Hours may be 1st shift (7am-3:30pm), 2nd shift (2:45pm-11:30pm) or 3rd shift (10:45pm – 7:30am) or 7th shift (4:00am – 12:30pm).
• May be subject to work some weekend day’s holidays.
• Volunteer overtime may be available and could be subject to mandatory overtime assignments.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum age requirement 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• Two years’ experience in the automotive or heavy vehicle maintenance field.
• Graduation from a two-year technical school for automotive or heavy-duty diesel repair will be considered in place of work experience.
• An equivalent combination of educational achievement/coursework and relevant work experience may be considered qualifying in lieu of the above.
• Must be able to pass RTA’s Service and Repair mechanics test – NOCTI – Diesel Technology
• Must be able to work around moving equipment.
• Must have a good work record.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL Class B License with a Passenger Endorsement
