Lab Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will support laboratory operations by performing chemical analysis, conducting testing procedures, maintaining laboratory equipment, and assisting with process development activities. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and chemical analysis with precision and accuracy.
- Conduct tests and measurements to support process control and quality standards.
- Maintain laboratory systems accreditation and compliance procedures.
- Support new process development initiatives and application evaluations.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Record, analyze, and communicate test results clearly and accurately.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, shop orders, and technical documentation.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and laboratory protocols.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with team members to improve laboratory efficiency and testing processes.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- College degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred, or equivalent chemistry knowledge/experience.
- Previous experience working with chemicals or in a laboratory environment preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn new processes, systems, and laboratory procedures quickly.
Required Skills & Abilities
Technical Skills
- Understanding of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and computer systems.
- Ability to perform precise measurements and detailed testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Ability to work with delicate laboratory tools, test tubes, and equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach overhead, climb stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to maintain visual acuity for reading documents, computer screens, and inspecting parts/processes.
- Ability to hear environmental changes, equipment alerts, paging systems, and safety warnings.
- Ability to work long shifts, including periods requiring repetitive motion or working at a workstation.
