Get your foot in the door with the pre-apprenticeship program – Building Futures
In the Building Futures program, you will learn the basics of the construction industry. Local unions are choosing graduates of this program for journeyman positions.
In just a few weeks, you’ll learn:
- An orientation to the construction industry
- Training on the use of tools and materials
- Construction math
- Basic blueprint reading

Earn certifications you’ll need to get started in well-paying union career
- OSHA 10 Certification – Learn to stay safe while on the job
- CPR, AED, and First Aid – To keep others safe
- Pre-Apprenticeship Certification from the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council – You’ll be ready to earn as you learn without any student loan debt
- Apprenticeship Readiness Certificate from North America Building Trades Union – You’ll be recognized as a valuable member of the union you choose
